Nexera Process Safety

This training aims to introduce participants to the fundamental principles and practical application of Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) methodology. The course covers the key concepts, assumptions, and techniques used to numerically evaluate risks in industrial facilities. The training content has been developed with consideration of the Turkish Seveso framework (BEKRA) and internationally recognized industry best practices.

Day 1 – QRA Fundamentals and Methodology

  • Process safety and risk assessment approaches
  • What is QRA and when should it be applied?
  • Scope and limitations of QRA
  • Regulatory approach in Türkiye (BEKRA perspective)
  • Overview of international standards and guidelines (CCPS, API)
  • Hazard identification and scenario selection
  • Core components of a QRA study

Day 2 – Consequence and Frequency Analysis

  • Fire scenarios (pool fire, jet fire, etc.)
  • Explosion scenarios (VCE, BLEVE, etc.)
  • Principles of toxic dispersion analysis
  • Frequency estimation methodologies
  • Data sources and uncertainties

Day 3 – Risk Evaluation and Decision-Making
